Marilyn,

Thank you for the good work you do. It is important to get that
recognition in before I go on to the purpose of my brief email.

The first content words in the July Journal, in your Square One welcome to
readers, p.5, "Tyranny--what a powerful word..." appears to me to be not
Christianly scientific. Doesn't Christian Science teach us that there is no
power in evil? And tyranny is cerainly evil in both its nature and its name.

Freedom, the word above tyranny on the cover, IS a powerful word, one of
the most powerful. But tyranny can only claim to have power, or reality, or
the ability to intimidate. Isn't it our daily, and indeed, momentary, duty
to deny reality or power to all claims of evil, i.e. "to defend
[ourselves] against aggressive mental suggestion"?

And to be about our part in "healing and saving the world from sin and
death" (Manual, p.19), don't we need to be very careful with distinctions
such as these?
